Barriers to good health and wellbeing are complex and far reaching. Some affect us personally; some affect local or the greater global community. Health threats include those associated with environmental change and emerging and infectious disease. In addition, escalating health disparities between rich and poor, unprecedented global social and economic change, and a steep increase in chronic illness contribute to the current pandemic of diseases of lifestyle and circumstance.
Through transdisciplinary collaboration across Claremont Graduate University’s School of Community Health and eight other schools, we are catalyzing a new vision of how we conceptualize and promote health that extends far beyond the scope of traditional programs and paradigms. Our ultimate goal is to create a fertile environment to convene the top minds and diverse leaders from the sciences, public health, government, business, civil society, and the community to engage in creative problem-solving dialogues leading to new innovations in health, wellbeing, and quality of life for individuals, families, and communities here and abroad.
