The Pedant is a quarterly newsletter for and about students that is put out by CGU's Office of Communications. It is predominantly written, designed, and edited by CGU students.
The first issue of the Pedant was released in fall 2008. Its name is derived from a 1997 university-wide student contest to create a mascot and motto for CGU. The winning mascot’s name was the Pedant, and its motto was Otium cum dignitate (or “Leisure with dignity”).
The Pedant newsletter is a resource for CGU students in providing information that will help us get more from our experiences here. The Pedant brings you information about classes, professors, activities, tips for a better graduate-student experience, student achievements, and much more.
To share your student achievements, or if you have any ideas for future issues, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Pedant is edited by School of Arts and Humanities doctoral student Emily Schuck.
