Louis A. Ruprecht, Jr.'s research interests are wide-ranging, but most involve the attempt to engender a conversation between the Classical and Biblical worlds, on the one hand, and various representative movements within the modern world, especially Romanticism. He has written books on tragedy, nostalgia, Platonic philosophy, and the history of the appropriation of Hellenism in the West, and is currently completing a book on the first twenty-five chapters of Genesis.
