CFP – Faculty Summer 2015 Research and Training Grants
Big Data, Data Analytics, Digital Humanities
To encourage further use of Big Data, Data Analytics, and Digital Humanities methods at CGU, the Transdisciplinary Studies Program will award up to five summer research and training grants each worth $3,500 for the summer of 2015. The grants can be used for: 1) registration to attend training workshops or seminars for developing new analytical skills and/or curating data sets, 2) developing or extending research to include new Big Data sources and/or analytics, and 3) developing course modules that can be used to introduce Big Data and analytic tools into existing or new courses.
At the end of the summer, awardees will submit a 3-5 page summary of their projects activities and outcomes. Faculty receiving these grants may be requested to contribute and share at a workshop for other CGU faculty on the methods and skills they have develop from this program.
A short 1-2 page proposal is requested that contains: 1) Project Objectives, 2) Proposed Activities, 3) Expected Outcomes, 4) Any other (technical) assistance that may be needed. We recognize that this may be new area for some and are willing to consult with potential awardees as they formulate their ideas and plans, if and as needed.
Submissions are due Friday, April 24 and should be emailed to email@example.com. Awardees will be notified by Friday, May 8.
