Dear CGU Faculty and Students,

The Transdisciplinary Studies program will continue to make small grants of $500 to groups of students and faculty to undertake readings and research across the disciplines on a given topic for the Spring 2012 semester. These grants may be used to pay for books, refreshments and other related expenses.

Transdisciplinary Reading and Working Groups should consist of students and faculty from at least three disciplines, preferably distributed across two or three of the Schools at CGU; priority will be given to topics that show promise of becoming the focus for future Transdisciplinary courses as well as proposals that combine approaches of the quantitative and interpretive disciplines.

Proposals should indicate research topic, readings, and names of participants with information about their Schools/fields as well as convener, or conveners, who will submit receipts for reimbursement no later than Friday, 8 June 12. A schedule of meeting dates should also be included; it is recommended that groups plan to meet at least 3 or 4 times during the semester.

The deadline for proposals for groups that will meet Spring 2012 is Wednesday, 26 October, 2011, 5pm; announcements of awards will be made shortly thereafter.

Please send hard-copy of proposals to the Transdisciplinary Studies Program, Attention Mary Ellen Wanderlingh, Program Coodinator, CGU, 160 East 10th Street, Claremont California 91711.

Don't hesitate to email, or call, me or Mary Ellen Wanderlingh (909 607 0724), if we can be helpful in any way.

Cordially,

Wendy Martin
