FE Admission Application Process
There are three ways to apply for admission to the Financial Engineering Program, including an online application and an application by mail.
To be eligible for admission to the FE program, you must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and have taken the GMAT or GRE within the past five years. Then you must:
- Complete and sign the application
for admission.
- Include the $60.00 non-refundable application fee, which is required of all applicants to Claremont Graduate University.
- Request official transcripts be sent to admissions from every institution previously attended.
- Request that an official GMAT (GMAC code DZK-QS-02) or GRE score be sent to admissions directly from Educational Testing Service (ETS). The GRE code for CGU is 4053. The Finance department code is 4102.
- Include a Student Profile and an Application for Institutional Aid.
- Include a copy of your current resume.
- Arrange for admissions to receive three letters of recommendation from professional sources.
- Include a Personal Statement.
- If you are non-native English-speaking and did not graduate from a U.S. undergraduate institution, you must request that a TOEFL score be sent to us directly from ETS OR an IELTS score.* The TOEFL institution code is 4053. The department code is 69 (Engineering, others.)
* Applicants who hold a degree from a college or university in the United States or any other country where English is the primary language may interview in lieu of submitting a TOEFL or IELTS score.

Applying to the FE Program
Due to a very limited (30 to 40) number of seats each year, prospective students should apply to our Master of Science in Financial Engineering degree program by the February 1st priority deadline each year to be considered for admission to the fall (September) semester.

Math Prerequisites:
• B or better in multivariable calculus
• B or better in Linear algebra
Proficiency in:
