11.21.13: You Take Charge: Diverse Women in Leadership, a conversation with Ina Coleman
Although it is 2013, diverse women are still not represented at inner circles of the most
senior leadership management, research clearly indicates that gender diverse teams are
more successful financially and creatively than those that are not. Decision makers in
positions of power to build gender diverse teams are not doing so. Ms. Coleman will talk
about why, and she will lay out what you can do to forge a path that leads to a seat at the
Ina Coleman is the managing director of the Feminist Majority Foundation, one of the leading
organizations dedicated to advancing the equality of women and girls worldwide.
Ms. Coleman is an experienced business executive on Stanford University's Council of the
School of Humanities and Sciences, and the university's advisory board of the Center for
Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity (CCSRE). In addition, she serves on the advisory
boards of USC Annenburg's Center on Communication Leadership and Policy (CCLP) and
Girls Inc. of Greater Los Angeles. She holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and
a B.A. in Communications from Stanford University.
