DSSA 2007 Agenda Ignites Student Interest and Involvement

The Drucker School Student Association (DSSA) kicked-off the 2007 Spring Semester with renewed vitality and focus--making good on its commitment to re-vitalize student body interest and involvement in DSSA activities and services.

A recent, spirited Drucker Social held at Heroe’s Restaurant, attracted a large cross-section of new and seasoned Drucker students who ”mixed and mingled” while sharing free appetizers and lively exchanges.  Drucker Dean Ira Jackson and Melinda Moers, Director of the Drucker Alumni Association also attended-- circulating and celebrating DSSA’s new energy.

According to new DSSA President, Ina Gonzalez, the “mixer” was only a prelude to the line-up of other exciting activities being scheduled, including a series of  Drucker Student Association Information Sessions which are already underway and sparking student interest and participation.  The first in the series of sessions was held on Tuesday, January 30th   by the Marketing Association led by Director Brandon Tuck (MBA, Class of 2007).  The second session was held Wednesday, January 31 by Net Impact led by Director Chris Lam (MBA/MA, Class of 2009) and a third session was held Thursday, February 1 by the Management Consultant Association led by Jasper Spencer-Scheurich.  All sessions had high attendance indicating a mounting increase in student awareness and interest.  Additional session dates will be announced for the Finance & Investment Association led by Director Jiaili Cora Jin (MSFE 2008) and for the Entrepreneurship Club led by Director Jiren Lei (MBA 2008).

In addition to DSSA President, Ina Gonzalez,  the slate of new, enthusiastic officers include, Simon Wang (Class of 2008), Vice President of Operations; Michelle Stewart (Class of 2008), Vice President of Communications; Philbert Abellera (Class of 2008), Treasurer; Sergey Shchepochkin (Class of 2008), Technology Officer; Robert Hargis (Class of 2008), GSC Liaison; Curtis Hall, Representative; Jeremy Hopkinson (Class of 2007), Representative and Chris Lam (Class of 2009), Representative.

In keeping with DSSA’s commitment to improve the quality of the entire Drucker experience for each and every member of the Drucker community, President Ina Gonzlez says, “We are truly excited about the direction DSSA has taken.  It is  reflective of the ongoing strength and vitality of our Drucker MBA Program. DSSA stands ready to support our student body by identifying and meeting needs, and by serving as liaison and a bridge for students in collaborating and coordinating with administration, other boards, student clubs, alumni and outside resources.”

DSSA is hosting the next Drucker Social Night on Thursday, February 8 at 5:00 p.m. at  Walter’s Restaurant located at 310 Yale Avenue, Claremont (909) 624-4914.  Appetizers are free until gone.  Students are advised to arrive early.
