The Council on Islamic Studies includes leaders of the Muslim community who work closely with the School of Religion and provide advice, counsel and support as the school develops programs in Islamic Studies and seeks to provide an educational and cultural center for the community in a multi-religious context.
With the Council on Islamic Studies the School of Religion seeks to establish permanent and vibrant relationships with the Muslim communities in our region. The Council on Islamic Studies represents a partnership with the Muslim community, advising the school on the needs of the community, consulting with the school on the development of courses and programs and working with the school to sponsor lectures, conferences, and cultural events on Islamic history, culture and civilization. The Council is assisted by a Religious Advisory Committee of religious leaders.
