Digital Infrastructures - The Editors

 

 

 

Rae Zimmerman is Professor of Planning and Public Administration and Director of the National Science Foundation funded Institute for Civil Infrastructure Systems (ICIS) at New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and a consortium member of the first Homeland Security Center of Excellence for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events based at the University of Southern California. She is a former President of the Society for Risk Analysis, is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Society for Risk Analysis, and has served on various boards for the National Academy of Sciences, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, state agencies, and academic research projects.

 

 

 

Thomas Horan is Associate Professor and Director, Claremont Information and Technology Institute at Claremont Graduate University's School of Information Science. Dr. Horan has investigated a wide range of digital infrastructures through federal, state, and privately funded research grants. This work has included international studies on telecommunications planning, national and local deployment studies on Intelligent Transportation Systems, and innovative systems development for environmental and geographical information systems. Dr. Horan has written extensively on digital systems; his most recent book on the topic was Digital Places: Building Our City of Bits (2000).
