GSC Executive Board Officers 2012-2013

 

Eligibility to become a GSC Officer:  Must be enrolled in a degree program, maintain good academic standing which includes a minimum of 3.0 at all times and no more than 1 incomplete at any given time. If this standard is not maintained the Dean of Students will ask the officer to step down at the end of the given semester.

 

President: Shelby Hamm

School of Religion

The President's main responsibility is to be a key representative of the CGU student body. In this role, the President works proactively to represent student needs, concerns and ideas to the school's administration. The President also conducts all meetings, appoints committee chairs, and works with the Treasurer to finalize budgets. He or she will serve as student representative of the Faculty Executive Committee in the academic year, and advises the GSC Constitution Committee.

 

Vice-President: Suzanne De Pol

School of Politics and Economics

The Vice President manages communication of the GSC with those outside of the Council. He or she is responsible for ensuring communication between the Council and other student organizations at CGU and for developing greater coordination and collaboration between the GSC and other organizations at CGU. He or she also advises the GSC Student Affairs Committee and has principle oversight of event planning by GSC members.

 

Treasurer: Jane Castanares

School of Community and Global Health

The Treasurer's main duty is to ensure the financial responsibility of the Council. He or she also creates a budget that is voted on by the members. The Treasurer works closely with the Vice-President in budget allocations for GSC sponsored clubs and partnership projects. He or she also advises the GSC Budget Committee.

 

Secretary: Ariel Carpenter

School of Educational Studies

The Secretary ensures communication within the GSC. He or she also supports the publicity and website information processes. The Secretary also notifies the student body of meetings and sends out meeting agendas. At meetings, the Secretary distributes minutes, and reports any written analyses of projects. He or she also advises the GSC Annual Projects Committee.

There are open representative positions in SPE and SISAT and open delegate positions with Arts & Humanities, SBOS, Botany, Drucker, SES, SISAT, Math, SPE, and Religion. Please contact the GSC if you are interested in serving in one of these open positions.
