PREPARE TO BECOME AN OUTSTANDING SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

The School of Educational Studies Teacher Education Internship Program combines full-time paid employment in transform lives brochure coverurban schools with the opportunity to earn a special education credential and master's degree in just four semesters. We prepare teachers for Level I and Level II Mild/Moderate credentials and a CLAD Certificate, focusing on the skills necessary to teach culturally, economically and linguistically diverse students.

EARN WHILE YOU LEARN

After successful completion of an initial summer (or combined spring/summer) term, you will be eligible for an internship credential. As an intern, you will be employed as a full-salaried special education teacher in public school classrooms while you continue your academic work toward your credential and M.A. degree in Education.

With expertise in special education, you can earn an above- average salary during your first 5 years of teaching and quickly advance into positions of key leadership. Personalized attention is a hallmark of the CGU Program. As an intern you will be paired with a faculty advisor who serves as your personal mentor and guide. The  average faculty advisor to intern ratio is 1:8, ensuring that you will receive personal time and attention. Our faculty advisors are highly skilled and dedicated educators who have had outstanding success in the classroom, teaching students with special needs. You will receive a foundation in the best contemporary practice, theory, and professional preparation, enabling you to excel as a special education teacher.
