AWS Student Life
Claremont affords students with countless opportunities to get involved in academic, cultural, and political events. Claremont Graduate University is a member of the Claremont University Consortium, take a look at the Claremont Colleges Calendar for current events. We are only 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and only a drive from best recreation, nightlife and entertainment that Southern California has to offer - beaches, mountains, ski resorts, desert resorts. The City of Claremont also offers recreational activities for its residents.
The Applied Women's Studies Program endeavors to establish personal relationships with the students, staff and faculty. In the Academic Year 2004-2005, we had:
o Site Visits (the Downtown Women's Center, the Planned Parenthood Office)
o Luncheons/Dinners

Women of Belief in the Political Arena (sponsored by Women's Studies of the Claremont Colleges) featuring honored guests: Senator Diane Feinstein, US Congresswomen Barbara Lee, Grace Napolitano, Loretta Sanchez, Maxine Waters and Mexican Consul General Marta Lara.
