BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Robin L. Owens has a strong commitment to the academic growth and development of each McNair scholar. She has a passion for helping students acheive their goals and pursue their dreams of obtaining a Ph.D. degree. Robin brings several years of experience in management and social work to her position at McNair. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in Religion at Claremont Graduate University. Her research interests include the interrelationship of religion, society, and culture, African American religious history and culture, and the scripturalizing and signifying practices of African American women. Until fall 2005, Robin was the Academic Advisor for the McNair Scholars Program.
