The Many Faces of Person-Centric Electronic Health Systems: A National Symposium to Examine Use-Cases for Healthy, Chronically Ill and Disabled User Communities Personal Health Records

Submissions of extended abstract for presentations are encouraged in areas as diverse as, but not limited to:

  • Visions and Strategy: This can include presentations of strategy and vision on Person-Centric Electronic Health Systems from different viewpoints such as academic, practitioner, and policy maker.
  • Innovation and Development: This can include evaluations of innovative processes and implementations and empirical investigations of adoption and acceptance of electronic health systems by diverse user communities (e.g., lifestyle, chronic illness, disability), including international applications.
  • Technical Aspects: This can include papers on standards, interoperability, architecture, design, and development of electronic health systems.
  • Policy and Social Impacts: This can include policy development at national, federal, regional, local, and organizational levels as well as privacy and security issues for person-centric electronic health systems.

CGU-QTC Health Symposium will be of special interest to:

  • Health informatics researchers and practitioners
  • Decision makers in the health care arena
  • Public and private sector policy makers
  • Developers and Implementers of Electronic Health Records Products
  • Developers and Implementers of Electronic Disability Records Products
  • Representatives of Regulating Authorities and industry associations
  • IT Specialists
  • Standards Specialists

Submissions are encouraged as extended abstracts (2-4 pages). Submissions should be formatted in double space, 12 times new roman, with the first page bearing authors' affiliations, names and contact details.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings. In addition, conference organizers are in active discussion with a national publisher for an edited book based on the conference theme. The authors of the presented abstracts will be invited to submit full papers for consideration in this book.

Notification of Acceptance:

October 30, 2005

Final Abstracts Due:

November 15, 2005

Symposium:

December 2-3, 2005
