RELIGION 307HB 1378 1 Basic Aspects of the Study of the Hebrew Bible
An introductory course in Hebrew Bible studies for M.A. students. This course is an introduction to the study of the Hebrew Bible (i.e., Old Testament/First Testament or Tanak). It will focus on the literature, history, and religious concepts of ancient Israel and Judah in an attempt to understand the Bible in relation to its setting in the ancient Near Eastern world. The approach to this study will be from the perspective of modern literacy-and historical-critical scholarship.
