Admitted International Students

As an international student, you should follow the steps outlined on the Admitted Student Checklist page. Additional pertinent information that may not be covered on this page is covered here:

1. International applicants must prove their ability to financially support themselves for one academic year by submitting a completed Affidavit of Financial Support (form #I-1) and supporting documents. These documents are required in order for the International Student Coordinator to issue an I-20/DS-2019 form. You may submit this form at the time of the application or after you are accepted into the program of your choice. Please view the information on Obtaining an I-20 or DS-2019 to CGU for a guide on your next steps.

2. All international students must have health insurance. Please view our Insurance page for details about this requirement, information about CGU's offered plan, and instructions on opting out of the plan, if you so decide.

3. All international students are required to submit proof of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test prior to registration for classes. Students may bring proof from their home countries or take the test in the United States. For more information, please see the New International Pre-Registration form (form #I-3) or review the information in the CGU Bulletin.

4. International students enrolled at CGU are responsible for adhering to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) requirements set forth by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS, formerly INS). Please read the International Student/Scholar Requirements for SEVIS (form #I-8) for more information. A signed copy of this form will be collected from you at International Student Check - In.

5. CGU is pleased to partner with International Place to bring important social services (such as airport pick-up, temporary homestay, and student activities) to our student population. We encourage all students to become involved with International Place as soon as possible to ensure the best student experience possible.
