First Year Students

All newly admitted students will complete the in-person registration forms at new student orientation during a group academic advising session. For those who do not attend Orientation, consult with your advisor, then submit the completed and signed form to the admissions coordinator before the end of the Add /Drop Period.
- PPE & MAPEB students will receive advising and submit a separate registration form for each school.
- PPE submit form also in SBOS
- MAPEB submit form also in Drucker

Newly admitted international students-- At International Orientation, all newly admitted international students will schedule an appointment with the international staff who will check in all travel documents. After which, the admissions coordinator can complete the student's course enrollment.

- All returning Economics, Politics & Policy students and MAPEB students will register online via the student portal.

| Academic Advising |
- Pre-advisement is a requirement for all students to register. Please meet with your advisor or seek advisement via email from your advisor and discuss your courses prior to registering (regardless of method, by paper form or online).

| Independent Studies |
- To enroll for an independent study course you must contact the faculty member, obtain advisor approval. Please use the Enrollment Contract and Registration Form for Independent Coursework Credit. Click here to download form.

| Registration Outside of SPE / CGU |
- Students who register for classes outside SPE or plan to audit a class need to download the Course Registration Form (or Change of Registration Form), complete it, obtain approval and submit form to your academic department for processing. Click here to download form.

| Registration Restrictions |
- Registration for some courses may be restricted to students of that program for the first two weeks of the open registration period, and then courses will be open for all CGU students.
|
| Auditing Courses |

SPE students who wish to audit a course must process requests through the academic department.

You may audit a course with the instructor's approval.

You may audit courses if you are enrolled in Doctoral Study or Continuous Registration.

| Continuous Registration |

Students who have completed their course requirements and are working on other degree requirements must maintain their active student status. This includes PhD students with a pending submission of the approved dissertation to the Office of Admission and Records or masters students defending Master’s Research Papers.

This requirement applies whether or not the student is physically on campus for the applicable semester.

In order to maintain your active student status for continued advising services, use of library privileges, and for financial aid purposes, you must register in:
- Doctoral Study (499) for PhD students
- Continuous Registration (400M) for masters students

| Pending Registrations |
- Students will maintain access in the portal to make changes (add/drop) to registration throughout the add/drop period, after which all changes must be processed by your academic department. Please submit a Change in Registration form; click here access this form in the Paper-Based Registration section. You will be able to modify your existing enrollment without incurring a late fee until the end of the Add/Drop period. Click here for information.
- If your academic advisor feels it is necessary to make adjustments to your schedule, they will contact you and require you to make the necessary changes.

| Prerequisites |

To view prerequisites for all courses please visit the course schedule inside the student portal at http://my.cgu.edu. Click "Student Information" > "CGU Official Information" > "View Course Catalog". Prerequisites are displayed on the Course Offering page under "Enrollment Requirement Group".

If you wish to register for one of these classes and you do not meet the prerequisites please contact the SPE Program Coordinator.

| Withdrawal from Courses |
- If you need to withdraw from ALL of your courses at CGU, you must submit a completed Change of Registration Form to your department. Do NOT drop your courses on-line. Click here for more information.
