On-Campus Locations

The Coop Fountain (Pomona College)
Located in the Smith Campus Center at Pomona College.  The chicken tenders make for great eating after crashing parties at Pomona College.  Just kidding.  Maybe.  It's a five minute walk due south from CGU.  And yes, the students can tell that you're not only older than they are, but that you are way older.  It's mildly humbling but again, did I mention the high quality of the chicken fingers?
Monday–Thursday, 9am–Midnight
Friday, 9am–1:30am
Saturday-Sunday, Noon–1:30am

The Coop Store (Pomona College)
The store is adjacent to the Coop Fountain and offers bottled drinks and snacks.  There are also assorted Pomona College paraphrenalia such as hats, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and assorted accessories.  You may be tempted to purchase a KSPC t-shirt like I did last year.  I think it's a good purchase because as a designer I have to say that the shirt looks pretty cool (as long as you don't assume that it'll make you look any younger).

More importantly, you can purchase cigarettes (GSC takes no official position on smoking).  The store keeps the same hours as the Coop Fountain.

The Drucker-Ito School (CGU)
There is a microwave oven that is open to students (I'm not kidding) in the lounge downstairs on the west side of the building.  You may laugh, that is, until you need to heat up your cup of ramen or nuke that frozen burrito.  Think about it.  There's also a vending machine and a coffee dispenser.  However it is rumored that the coffee dispenser works intermittently and only favors the lucky.  It's always worked when I've used it.

The Graduate Student Council Office, Harper Hall 57 (CGU)
(i.e., the basement)
In line with the saying that it's the little things that count, espresso drinks, regular coffee, and tea are being served free of charge courtesy of the GSC Vice-President during his office hours on Thursdays 2-5pm as well as all other times he is present in the office.  He will be adding cappuccino, and hot dark chocolate in due course.  So, come in for a spot of coffee and a friendly chat.

The espresso machine is on-loan from Ms. Elaine McLemore of the History department who has the good sense to have someone make her coffee for her.  The coffee machine comes by way of Yolanda Romanello, your SES Representative.  Thank you Elaine.  Thank you Yolanda.

The Hub (Claremont McKenna College)
A cafeteria style eatery at the north edge of CMC...with pool tables!  It's just across the street from The Motley at Scripps.

Hours or Operation:
Monday-Wednesday, 11am-5:00 pm and 7:30-11pm
Thursday-Friday, 11am-5pm and 7:30 pm-Midnight
Saturdays, 12:30pm to 4:30 pm

The Motley Coffeehouse at Scripps College
Food, coffee, assorted drinks and more amid the youthful vigor of intrepid undergraduates who unfortunately can spot a person over the age of 22 as quickly as it takes to answer a cellphone.  Nevertheless, it's a charming neo-bohemian retreat from the brick and mortar, and sometimes too-familiar right angles of CGU.  The operating hours are:
Monday-Thursday, 8pm-Midnight
Friday, 8am-5pm
Saturday, Noon-5pm
Sunday, Noon-5pm and 8pm-Midnight
To see just how uncool you've become since graduating college, or for just something practical like more information or the exact location, visit The Motley Online.
