2006 Winner of The Peter F. Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation AnnouncedThis year’s winner of the Peter F. Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation is United Through Reading. United Through Reading enables deployed military parents to continue parenting from afar and to be a constant presence in their children's lives by privately reading books aloud on videotape/DVD from their duty stations. The tapes and books are mailed home where the children can hear their parent’s voice and see their face, while enjoying a favorite story as often as they like. The award will be presented at Drucker Alumni Day, November 4th. Military personnel and their families who have participated in the program will be present to accept the award.
