Over 40 progressive theologians are meeting in Claremont this week for what may be the largest theology-related activity in the region in years. The event is called “Rekindling Theological Imagination” and will take place at Claremont School of Theology, located at 1325 N. College Avenue.

These theologians will come together to discuss a crisis in religion that is happening around the world. Joining the group will be the Executive Director of the American Academy of Religion, Jack Fitzmier, and its current President, Harvey Cox.

Its goal is to break down the walls between academic theology and the church. The Claremont event is the first of three meetings.
