James B. McNabb (PhD Political Science, 2002) is currently serving as an assistant professor of world politics at the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics, and Strategic Research (KIMEP) in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. KIMEP offers bachelor programs in the fields of Business Administration and Accounting and the Social Sciences (Public Administration and Political Science).

Rahul Tripathi (MA Economics, 1997) joined the College Preparatory School as its Chief Financial Officer in July 2006. Mr. Tripathi has more than ten years of experience in the area having worked at New York University, Rice University and Philips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire.
Maupin, Theone, Jr., (MA Economics, 1975) was promoted to District Supervisor of the newly created Mountain River District. He also continues to serve as the senior pastor of the Idaho Falls Foursquare Church.
Kessara Thanyalakpark (PhD Economics, 2000) was featured in The Nation Online
Dr. Thanyalakpark became director of the family’s property business, Sena Development Plc, in 2004. The company has since then consolidated their many operations as well as changed their revenue structure under her guidance. Since becoming director, the company has launced 10 projects in Rangsit, worth about Bt1 billion. She is also involved in charitable work through her Baan Rum Farn (House of Dreams) project that benefits the Siriraj Hospital. She also serves as a lecturer for Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Business.

Darrene L. Hackler (PhD Political Science, 2000) published Cities and the Technology Economy (Cities and Contemporary Society). The book examines the effect of technology industries and infrastructures on cities and the local policy actions required for effective responses to these challenges. She also co-wrote an article with Greg Saxton on the Strategic Use of Information Technology by Nonprofit Organizations: Increasing Capacity and Untapped Potential (forthcoming) in the Public Administration Review and Demographic Change in Small Cities, 1990 – 2000 in Urban Affairs Review with Christopher Hoene and Christiana Brenan.
Dr. Hackler is now Associate Professor in the Department of Public and International Affairs, George Mason University.
David Keithly (PhD Government, 1985) published The USA and the World (2005 First Edition). The book joins the annually updated, The World Today series. The book focuses on the patterns of contemporary American civilization and its relation to the world today.
Pam Proctor (MA Politics and Policy, 1970) recently published, Points of Light: A Celebration of the American Spirit, a co–authored book with Robert Kinkade and Robert Godwin which features a foreword by George Bush. Her previous works include Songs of Saigon (co-authored with former Vietnamese refugee, Anh Vu Sawyer), The Art of Creative Living (with Thomas Kinkade), and Looking Good at Any Age (with Amy Newburger). She is founder and coordinator of Teen Writers Workshop, a program that introduces high school students to professional novelists, poets and journalists.
Edward Schneier (PhD Government, 1964) recently published Crafting Constitutional Democracies: The Politics of Institutional Design.
Jerry Silverman (PhD Government, International Relations, 1967) The National Interest published two of his articles: Shadow Boxing with Shadow Governments: Hizballah, Hamas, other groups will prove elusive adversaries on September 21, 2006, and A Real Intelligence Estimate, By Numbers: Terrorism and Conflict Not Up Worldwide on October 3, 2006.

Aaron Tesfaye (PhD Political Science, 1996) was invited to present a paper on “The Role of Political Leaders in Mobilizing the political will for intervention in Africa (the case of Darfur and other Darfur type situations)” at the High – Level Symposium on Garnering Political Will for Promotion of ‘Responsibility to Protect’ in Africa. The symposium is part of a series of joint initiatives between the South Africa – based Institute for Security Studies (ISS), the UK – based Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) and the Canadian – based North – South Institute to explore prospects to operationalize the principle of responsibility to protect in Africa. The symposium was held on October 25 – 26, 2006 at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Accra, Ghana. Dr. Tesfaye has contributed to http://www.pambazuka.org and http://www.zmag.org providing an analysis of the situation in Darfur. He is currently teaching at the Political Science Department, William Paterson University, New Jersey.
Michael Doyle (MA Public Policy, 1997) was named emeriti faculty of California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA after his retirement. An article referencing his retirement is included in the May 18,2006 Community News section of The Thousand Oaks Acorn.

Philip Borst (PhD Government, 1968) a former longtime president of Fullerton College, died of Cancer on May 21, 2006 at his home in Hemet, CA. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree from Stanford University before coming to CGU to finish his doctorate degree. He was hired at Fullerton College in 1956 as a political science instructor and was named its president in 1977. He remained on the Fullerton College Foundation board after his retirement in 1994.
