Biography
Anita Quintanar is the Director of Student Programs & Faculty Development for the School's Teacher Education Program. Quintanar and the Director of Curriculum & Advancement  (Dr. DeLacy Ganley) co-oversee the academic aspects of the School's highly integrated multiple- and single-subject credential programs as well as its credential for Mild/Moderate Educational Specialists. Along with teaching their own classes, providing support to the program's interns, and fostering the program’s overall effectiveness, Quintanar and Ganley collectively design the program's core classes in Teaching, Learning, and Practice and facilitate the teaching of these courses by the program's core adjunct faculty. The program relies upon Quintanar's background as a bilingual elementary school teacher and principal; her expertise with building bridges between schools and families/communities; her experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse populations; her understanding of how budgets and federal funding influence compensatory educational programs; and her dynamic perspective of administration. She has worked as a consultant with low-performing schools and districts on both coasts of the USA.
