Sarah Robinson


Sarah Robinson is a Ph.D. student in Women’s Studies in Religion in CGU’s School of Religion.  She completed a B.A. in 1999 from the University of California at Berkeley, minoring in Conservation and Resource Studies and majoring in American Studies, with the thesis title “Rising in the Dawn, Deliverance for a Dreaming Democracy: Visionary Words Spoken by Two Prominent African American Public Figures.”  In 2005, she received an M.A. in History from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, with the thesis “What Was Mary Magdalene’s Good News?: Contextualizing the Gospel of Mary.” 

 
Robinson’s interests span various categories, including ecofeminism, antiglobalization, antiracism, postcolonialism, peace studies, and ecology, particularly as these topics arise in the study of religion and culture.  In terms of methods, she studies historiography, ethics, comparative religions, and feminist theologies.  In addition to her work with the Writing Center, she serves the Women’s Studies in Religion Program as Program Assistant, and volunteers as facilitator for the Religion Student Council.
