Dr. Hazem Chehabi is a board certified Nuclear Medicine Physician and has been practicing in Orange County since 1989. He is the President of Newport Diagnostic Center, one of the premiere medical imaging facilities on the West Coast. Dr. Chehabi has been on the clinical faculty of UC Irvine for a number of years, a member of the UCI Volunteer Faculty and the School of Medicine Health Science Partners and also served as the past president (2003-2004) of the Medical Board of California. His affiliations include the American Colleges of Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Physicians, the American Medical Association and the Society of Nuclear Medicine. Born in Aleppo, Syria, Dr. Chehabi attended the University of Damascus, School of Medicine, graduating with honors in 1981 and moved to the U.S. to pursue his post graduate training. He spent seven years of post graduate work at prestigious institutions such as the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, UCLA and UC San Francisco. Dr Chehabi has been serving as the Honorary Consul General for Syria in California since October 12, 1995.
