Baccalaureate is a celebration for all of the graduates of The Claremont Colleges and their families and friends.  It is a unique tradition in higher education that reflects upon one’s time of study and looks forward to the world that the graduates will enter.  The ceremony includes student remarks, music, and a keynote speaker. 

This year the speaker will be Scripps Alumna Karen Tse, JD, a human rights legal advocate who is the founder and CEO of International Bridges to Justice, an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization that strives to protect due process and achieve fair trials for the accused throughout the world and is dedicated to the mission of protecting basic legal rights for ordinary citizens in developing countries. She received the 2008 Human Rights Award from the American Bar Association.
