Drucker School Consulting Association Speaker Series presents
Mr. Arvid Raulinaitis, Senior Managing Consultant, IBM
Thursday, February 17th
Arvid is a Drucker alum, class of 1995. He would be discussing “7 Keys to Success, a review process for consulting engagements”. He will also be sharing contacts for internship and post-MBA recruiting.
Arvid completed his MBA at the Drucker School in 1995 while working as an IT director for a medical auditing firm in Cucamonga. Because the Consulting Practicum was only available to full-time students, Dr. Bela Gold and Arvid called on a few CEOs to find and deliver a custom consulting engagement. They engaged Furon Corp in Laguna Hills, who had purchased BI software and wondered what a world-class implementation of it would look like.Arvid interviewed the vendor and a few clients, then presented the vision to Furon's C-suite (CEO, CFO, COO).That led to another semester's project, and employment with the vendor, Comshare.
Arvid became a pre-sales consultant (very cool job because you get to learn a company, show how software will work for them, earn commissions, and not grind out lengthy implementations).
Arvid worked in pre- and post-sales for PeopleSoft and Hyperion since then. He also did implementations of Cognos working for several small consultancies, and is now a Senior Managing Consultant at IBM in the Business Analytics and Optimization (BAO) practice.Cognos was acquired by IBM several years ago, and is being extended and combined with other analytic solutions such as SPSS and iLog.
Arvid lives in Orange with his 2 teenage daughters. His son is majoring in Network Security and Artificial Life at the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, AZ.
Come and learn from Arvid's experience and help make this event a huge success!
