In conversation with Laura Zucker, Mark Slavkin will discuss the challenges of becoming the leader of an organization that had one founding director for more than 20 years and how he has approached providing quality arts education services during one of the deepest fiscal recessions for school districts in memory.
Mr. Slavkin, a former board member of the Los Angeles Unified School District, also serves as a member of the executive committee for Arts for All: the Los Angeles County Regional Blueprint for Arts Education, served on the staff of LAAMP, the Los Angeles component of the national Annenberg Challenge, a half billion dollar private effort to improve public schools in the United States and served as Los Angeles Program Officer for the Getty Education Institute for the Arts, a program of the J. Paul Getty Trust.
