Bill Anderson is the Department of Navy’s Director of Smart Grid, where his last engagement was serving a major US utility company in creating a $1.8b Smart Grid deployment strategy.  Previously he was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, and is a retired career US civil engineer corps naval officer with over twenty years of experience. Most notably he led rapid global response construction units in support of Special Forces (SEALs) as the senior engineer for the East Coast SEAL Teams. He is a licensed Professional Engineer, has his MBA from the Drucker School, M.S.(CE) from Berkeley, and B.S. (ME) from Virginia Military Institute.  

Bill also maintains his own private consulting practice, Green Energies Consulting; is a Chief Strategy Officer with ecomposites (BioFoamTM); partners with University of California at Santa Barbara’s eco-entrepreneurship program; and is published in various magazines and speaks routinely at energy conferences.

Drucker Net Impact is a student club at the Claremont Graduate University which promotes the learning and practicing of corporate social responsibility. This is done by hosting speakers, participating in sustainability-related case competitions and conferences, and running sustainability-focused projects.
