MGT 537C - The Executive Mind III: Moving Forward Managing Mental Models and Difficult Decisions

This course examines the mental models that you use to make sense of experience, models which are often outdated, inappropriate or driven by reactive emotional agendas.  The effect of this is being unable to take effective action in your life and wasting energy and effort.  We will take an inventory of the models you frequently rely on, how they get you in trouble, how to work with them in yourself and others.  We will place a great deal of attention on Difficult Conversations, since mental models are often implicated in them. You will learn how to open up dramatic new possibilities in yourself and others, how to have difficult conversations with greater ease and move forward with greater effectiveness and energy.
