Access to Information

The best way to stay current on your academic and financial records and accounts is to frequently check the student portal and your cgu.edu email account.

Account Username and Password You will receive your account username and password information from your academic department at your school’s orientation.
MyCGU (Portal) Student portal. Your login is the account username and password mentioned above. Check your portal frequently for academic information.
CGU Email All official university communications are sent only to students’ cgu.edu account. It is your responsibility to check on your email daily to avoid missing out on important information.
Federal and State Aid FAQs about Federal and State funding.
Information for Current Students A resourceful web page with links to many services for you.
Information for International Students From visa information to health insurance and much more, this page has important specific information for international students.

Student Services Offices

By placing service at the core of our mission, the offices within Student Services are here to help you sort out administrative and academic questions you may have along the way.

Admissions The Admissions Office helps you navigate through CGU's application and admission process. The office also manages related procedures and activities, reviews application materials, maintains student files, and develops recruiting programs.
Dean of Students The Dean of Students addresses a variety of student interests and concerns, as well as oversees admission, registration, financial aid, student accounts, recruitment, student life, student governance, career services, the writing center, and student wellness, health, and counseling.
Financial Aid The Financial Aid office provides you with guidance and assistance by managing loans, scholarships, fellowships, work-study and grant-in-aid programs.
International Students The International Students team helps non-domestic students throughout the admission process. Our staff can provide you with valuable advice on government forms, transfers, health insurance, housing, and employment.
Registrar's Office/Records The Registrar's/Records Office helps with all your registration needs, oversees class scheduling, maintains student transcripts, helps set and enforce university policies, works within strict federal FERPA guidelines to protect the privacy of your educational records, and supervises commencement.
Student Accounts The Student Accounts office processes deposits and helps you manage your student payments. Current billing information is always available on MyCGU (student portal).
Student Life The mission of the Office of Student Life and Diversity is to provide organizational support and resources to empower students through our peer mentoring program, workshops, social events and student organizations whose mission is to promote social and political awareness, specifically with respect to issues of class, ethnicity, gender, race, physical and learning challenges, sexuality, and sexual orientation.

Miscellaneous Services and Resources

CGU is engaged in all aspects of students’ lives and provides services and programs for you to experience education and explore interests beyond the classroom.

ID Cards Identification form needed for checking out books, obtaining a parking permit, managing Claremont Cash, and more.
Parking Information regarding parking regulations at CGU, towed vehicle information, traffic citation appeal forms, and more.
Campus Map Familiarize yourself with our campus and building names. Downloadable PDF available.
Housing Our community is comprised of five buildings with a total of 158 units and 240 bed spaces. A variety of floor plans available.
Bookstore (Huntley Bookstore) Offers books (including digital textbooks), accessories, apparel, supplies, technology, and more.
Library (Hunnold Library) Offers nearly 2 million volumes in books and collections (journals, magazines, newspapers). Handles interlibrary loans, electronic resources, affiliated libraries benefits, educational workshops, and individual and group study areas.
Health Insurance Overview of CGU's Health Insurance for both domestic and international students.
Health and Mental Health/Counseling (Monsour) Graduate school can be a difficult time in a person’s life and the services offered at the Monsour Counseling and Psychological Services Center are completely free and confidential.
Writing Center Offers assistance and support in academic reading, writing, and presentations as well as workshops and individual appointments.
Career Management Helps with resume & cover letter review/creation, interview & career guidance, including counseling and specific workshops.
Preparing Future Faculty Through workshops, learning communities and for-credit courses, CGU students have the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to teach at a variety of higher education institutions.
Minority Mentor Program Mentoring Programs and On-Site and Online Workshops to help retain underrepresented students. Also organizes an annual Student Research Conference.

Gym Access CGU students can join gyms of consortium schools:
The Rains Center (Pomona) is $75 per semester. The hours vary and more information is available on their website.Tiernan Field House (Scripps) has daily ($10), semesterly ($150), academic year ($275), and full calendar year ($450) options.
