Dr. Marcos has conducted extensive ethno-historical research on the construction of gender and sexuality in both indigenous and colonial religious culture. She is the author and editor of several books and many articles on the history of Psychiatry, Religion, and Women’s Popular Culture in pre-Hispanic and contemporary Mexico.
