1. REVIEW YOUR ADMIT PACKET
Your admit packet was mailed to you via U.S. Postal Service within two weeks of the time you first learned of your admission from your academic department. Read it carefully.
2. RETURN DECISION CARD AND DEPOSIT
Decide if CGU is where you would like to pursue your graduate study. We
encourage you to maintain contact with your academic department to learn all you can about your future program and visit if possible. All admitted students interested in enrolling at CGU should return the decision card with deposit for the appropriate amount listed on the card to:
Claremont Graduate University

3. VIEW NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION
This online orientation is designed to improve your overall student experience at CGU; it will answer FAQs and will help you to become familiar with where to go for answers and resources. The Orientation covers:
- Student Affairs
- Access to Information (email, portal, file sharing...)
- Office of Admission and Records (enrollment verification, transcripts...)
- Office of Student Financing (student loans)
- Student Accounts (your bill)

4. SECURE YOUR FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS
Ensure that you have made arrangements to finance your education. In financing
your CGU education, there are two types of aid you can apply for: institutional aid
and federal aid.
- Institutional Aid: When you first applied to CGU, you most likely submitted
a Profile/Institutional Aid Request form for your academic department to consider you for an award. The awards they are able to give to selected students are usually in the form of fellowships, research assistantships and teaching assistantships and minority fellowships. If you have questions regarding these types of awards, please contact your academic department directly, or you can visit the Office os Student Financing's page on Institutional Aid.
- Federal Aid: Graduate students enrolled in a degree program who meet general eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, may apply for federal loans or other federal and state assistance. Information is available on the Office of Student Financing web site.
Additional information regarding external grant and scholarship resources can be found there, public or university libraries, or on the World Wide Web at www.fastweb.com.
- Once an award has been made of either Institutional and/or Federal Aid, you
will receive a letter from the Office of Student Financing detailing the award.
Please read and follow all the instructions given with the award letter to
ensure the monies credit to your account.
