Course Overview
The purpose of this two and one-half day course was to increase the knowledge of clinicians on the needs of the consumer for using e-health systems to provide benefits throughout society. We offerd an in-depth look at the latest research, systems, and practice in Consumer Health Informatics. Each day featured a kick-off presentation by a distinguished lecturer posing a key question in which we explored key research findings and current systems for health management for use by diverse communities and consumers.
Special case study analysis sections provided a detailed view of consumer use of these systems. This course also provided an opportunity for educators to share their interests and experiences in providing a consumer health informatics perspective in the classroom.
