Obtaining an I-20 or DS-2019 to CGU

Once you are admitted into the program of your choice, you and the Assistant Director of International Services can begin the process of issuing you an I-20 (F-1 Student visa status) or DS-2019 (J-1 Student/Scholar visa status). In order to obtain an I-20 or DS-2019 you will need to do the following:

1)  Submit your deposit to save your place at CGU (please refer to the deposit card in your admit packet).

2) Submit the Affidavit of Financial Support (form I-1) along with financial statements verifying the statements made on the form.  Please feel free to initially fax these documents in addition to mailing the originals to the Assistant Director of International Services .

3) Once you have remitted the deposit and submitted your completed Affidavit and supporting documents, your I-20 or DS-2019 will be issued and sent to you via regular airmail or FedEx (additional fees apply; please contact the Assistant Director of International Services about this option).

4) After you receive your I-20 or DS-2019, you may apply for your visa at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in your home country.  You should allow at least 1-2 months for this process.  Please refer to the Pre-Arrival Information handout for additional information.
