The SPE Student Executive Committee is seeking SPE students interested in presenting their research or conference papers to faculty and students. If you will be presenting in the near future, then this is your opportunity to test your material before a panel of your peers and professors. They will provide you with the feedback you need to give a successful presentation. All presenters will be given a video copy of their presentation. A limited number of slots are available so please apply as quickly as possible. Please provide a brief description of your work.
The Symposium is taking the place of the traditional SPE Graduate Student Conference for 2008. The primary difference in this change of format is to emphasize the goal of preparing SPE students for professional conference presentations. It is well known that the way in which one presents information is as important as the information being presented. By providing you, the presenter, with a video file of your presentation, you will be able to observe how you present as well as to hear the diverse advice offered by more experienced student presenters and faculty.
Those who will be giving presentations at professional conferenes in the near future are encouraged to present their work.
The schedule of the day will be made available soon. Currently there will be two sets of presentations with a break in between.
Naturally no event would be complete without some opportunity of cameraderie, socializing, and relaxation. Therefore, the symposium will be followed by a catered reception with wine, spirits, and refreshments. To apply or for more information contact: studentexec@cgu.edu.
