Shamini Dias is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Educational Studies. Her research interests are in the semiotics of educational spaces and narratives, and in the intersection of web 2.0 technologies and mindsets with literacy motivation and development. For her dissertation Shamini is interested in exploring how arts based training can be integrated into teacher education programs to build teacher self-efficacy, classroom effectiveness and reflective practice, specifically in literacy development contexts.
Shamini received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from the National University of Singapore and worked as a teacher of English Literature, drama, presentation skills and writing in Singapore before coming to CGU. This is her second year as a consultant with the CGU Writing Center.
