Lourdes Villarreal
After serving as Dean of Language Arts at Evergreen Valley College, located in San Jose, California, Lourdes decided to return to Claremont to complete her doctoral studies in higher education. Her primary research interest is community colleges. Community college topics include shared governance, Hispanic Serving Institutions, Latino student success factors, and developmental education--writing courses, specifically.
Prior to her deanship, Lourdes was an English instructor at Hartnell Community College. She received her B.A. and M.A. in English from California State University, Fresno. The latter was with an emphasis in the teaching of writing.
