In your last year in the program, you must complete a capstone project—An Arts Consulting Clinic and Final Report. It is a graded, 4 units (100 hrs) semester-long project culminating in a formal consulting report.

To satisfy this requirement of the program, you must enroll in AM 400 Arts Consulting Clinic in your final year of study. The required deliverables are status reports during the semester, a final written report plus a final presentation to the organization attended by the faculty supervisor of your consulting project. The specific project deliverables will be shaped to the organization’s needs and will be approved by the faculty supervisor and the Director of the Arts Management Program before being sent to the organization. The final written consulting report will be reviewed by the Director of the Arts Management Program and approved by your supervisor.

The Arts Management department will assist in partnering students with a local art or cultural nonprofit organization. The students will be partnered according to their professional backgrounds and interests if possible.

The participating organizations will be selected by the Arts Management department through an application process. The selected organizations will provide the student with a project and a problem or challenge to be solved with the expected goals and objectives. The organization will assign a liaison who will provide the necessary information and oversight of the project.
