China Adams received her BA in Art from UCLA in 1995; in 2000 she earned her MFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
While ranging in its scope from sculpture to highly stylized, theatrical photography, China Adams uses a variety of media in order to convey her ideas.
Adams’ continued use of traditional techniques like paper making, collage and hand sewing are devices she employees in order to present a skewed version of conceptual work that uncharacteristically reveres delicately hand crafted objects.
Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally since 1993.She has had multiple solo shows at Ace Gallery Los Angeles (New York, and Mexico City). She has participated in a number of group shows in Europe, including shows at Galleria Milleventi in Milan, Metronom Gallery in Barcelona, ARCO in Madrid, and Centro De Arte Salamanca in Spain.
Her recent show, “Flights of Fancy,” just closed in June at Steve Turner Contemporary in Los Angeles.
