The Interfield emphasis combines courses from both departments in SPE for an interdisciplinary political economy degree. Students must be accepted into the interfield by both departments. Specifically, economics students must apply to and be accepted by the Politics & Policy Department before entering the interfield. The interfield also has a modified qualifying exam structure based on the requirements in both departments. The econ qual requirements combine testing on Econ 302 or 313 and a field of application.
