I came to Drucker because I wanted an MBA that focused on the human aspect of business.
Career goals My goal is to do international marketing.  Ideally I want to be able to move back to China and work for an international company.  I want to work on marketing American products to people in China.

Why Drucker? I came to Drucker because I wanted an MBA that focused on the human aspect of business.  I was attracted to the small class sizes, individual attention, and high quality faculty.  Above all I came here because of the feeling I got from the school.  In all my interactions with the Drucker School I found that what students wanted really mattered here.

What are your expectations? I hope to be challenged.  I want to be asked questions I haven’t thought about before, meet people I wouldn’t have otherwise met, and gain a business foundation that will help me succeed in the future.

What is your experience in the classroom? Class sizes are small which is great.  There is a lot of participation and interaction. There is a good balance between lecture, case studies, and group work.  The professors are engaging and very willing to be available to students.

One of the things I have been really excited about so far is the opportunity to work with real businesses to help them solve some of their problems and apply what we are learning in class to what’s going on in the real world.

So far this semester I’ve had the chance to work on a group project studying how to maximize profit for a local bar and another project studying the company culture at DreamWorks SKG through company visits and other research.  I’ve been really impressed with the opportunities to expand on what we learn in the classroom.

Favorite spots around Claremont? Claremont itself is beautiful and there are great areas to see around it.  I really enjoy being outside so going on hikes around Claremont is one of my favorite things to do here.

What is your favorite Drucker quote? The best way to predict the future is to create it.
I used to be the sort of person who tried to follow the standard paths to achieving my goals.  I thought that there were set rules and roads people should take towards certain careers.  Now I realize that could not be farther from the truth.  Finding myself unhappy on the prescribed path I veered off it and did the things I enjoyed.  At the end of the day, that led to a future that was better than I could have imagined.  By doing what I wanted I created a future that was a perfect fit for me.
