Summer Courses

Workshops!

A $2,100 stipend for each of the 17 McNair Scholars, distributed in four payments upon completion of specific program milestones.

Ten units of graduate credit from three graduate level courses. Graduate courses may include, but are not limited to, the following: writing research papers, writing research proposals, cultural analysis, or political theory.

Six weeks of housing at one of the Claremont Colleges.

Assistance with defining goals and creating plans to achieve them.

Individualized seminars on research skills, the graduate school application process, and preparation for the Graduate Record Examinations.

Workshops on research skills, the graduate school application process, preparation for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and types of financial assistance/support available to graduate students.

Activities on and off campus to enhance an understanding of the graduate school experience.

Access to research and computing facilities

Opportunities to interact with successful role models who have earned terminal degrees.

Opportunity to attend a national conference.

Individual and group meetings with staff dedicated to ensuring your success.
