Henry is Chair of Cultural Studies and Andrew W. Mellon All Claremont Professor of Humanities at CGU. He specializes in Contemporary European cultural theory, especially the work of Michel Foucault, Jacques Lacan and Slavoj Žizek, as well as issues of realism in the humanities and the sciences. His publications include Fetish: An Erotics of Culture (Cornell University Press, 1999) and The Metaphysics of Quantum Theory (Oxford, Clarendon Press, 1989). He has co-edited several collections including Event and Decision; Ontology and Politics in Badiou, Deleuze and Whitehead. (Cambridge Scholars Press, 2010), Der Andere Schauplatz: Psychoanalyse, Kultur, Medien (Turia Kant, 2001), and Science, Reason and Rhetoric (Pittsburgh University Press, 1995). He has held the Silverman Visiting Chair for History and Philosophy of Science and Ideas at the University of Tel Aviv, and has been a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for History of Science in Berlin, the Hungarian Institute for Advanced Studies in Budapest, Deakin University in Melbourne (Australia), and the IFK (Internationales Forschungszentrum Kulturwissenschaften) in Vienna. Most recently he was a senior Templeton fellow at the Institute for Quantum Optics in Vienna, under the auspices of the Austrian Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is on the board of the Association for Psychoanalysis, Culture and Society.
