Biography
Jeremiah J. Gonzalez has been an educator for over ten years. His first teaching experience was as a volunteer in Guatemala. He has since taught as an elementary school teacher in grades one through five in the Los Angeles Unified School District. He has served as the program coordinator for the Health Education Program, grade level chair, and as a member of the Instructional Leadership Team. Jeremiah also has experience in adult school as a teacher advisor and as an ESL teacher at Kennedy-San Fernando Community Adult School and North Hollywood-Poly Community Adult School. He has also taught Developmental Communications at Los Angeles Mission College.
Currently, Jeremiah is a Ph.D. student in Education with a focus on Urban Education. His research interests include teacher education, educational equality, and improving educational outcomes for English learners. His own experiences working and studying abroad have fueled his interest in working with immigrant students and parents. He is interested in the connection between parent education and the academic achievement of their school-aged children.
