NAME: Rev. Leon Wood

Biographical Information:
Osie Leon Wood, Jr. retired, as Dean of the School of Business and Technology, Long Beach City College in 1995. Since that time, he has spent his time serving both the Los Angeles County and the Long Beach community in many capacities. For Los Angeles County, Reverend Wood served two terms as member and president of the Los Angeles County Homeless Services Authority. He served two terms as Chairperson of the Long Beach Area Coalition on Homelessness. Pastor Wood also served as two-term chair of the Central Long Beach Project Area Committee.
Reverend Wood is seeking ways to change attitudes and lift the spirit of his community economically, socially, educationally, physically, and spiritually. "We must teach them to become resilient."
