Shanda Domango was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She finished her undergraduate career with a BSBA in Management and a minor in dance at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. In her undergraduate career she became a part of many campus organizations. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. where she participates in many community service activities and fundraising events; she has served as recruitment chair and president. Her greatest honor is being the founder and president of ULL’s first hip hop dance team, “Infinity”. Shanda has also maintained a 3.95 cumulative GPA during her undergraduate career. She says it was self-determination, faith, motivation, and a strong support system that guided her through her undergraduate career and helped her decide to move to California to attend Claremont Graduate University and pursue a masters degree in Arts Management. Shanda is currently serving as the Graduate Assistant for the Getty Leadership Institute and interning at the Lula Washington Dance Theatre. After completing her Masters’ in Arts Management she hopes to become a director for an arts organization. She also aspires to establish her own dance studio and company in her hometown of New Orleans. Her life’s purpose is to become an advocate for the arts in the Louisiana community so that the youth of Louisiana can have more opportunities to pursue their own careers in the arts.
