• Spring 2011 internship at Nielsen Entertainment – TV
• Opportunities in Marketing Brand Management, Market Research, and Management Consulting
My intern position at Nielsen Entertainment – TV is to support the Custom Research & Analytics Group. The group utilizes unique Nielsen methods of research to customize studies that are appropriate for the needs of individual networks. From re‐branding to re‐naming studies, the CR&A group works with the clients to find the best method of survey to achieve the optimal results. My role so far has been to learn the different components to a project, and make sure that Nielsen is on track to fulfilling the original objectives of each individual project.
I first learned about Nielsen Entertainment – TV from my mentor in the Drucker Mentor Program. After speaking with my mentor, he introduced me to his contact at Nielsen Entertainment – TV, and I was invited to interview with the head of the Custom Research & Analytics Group based on the match of my qualifications and the needs of the group at the time. The Drucker School was instrumental in helping me with this connection because it gave me the opportunity to network and learn from my mentor.
What advice would you give to a student interested in obtaining an internship at Nielsen?
My advice to any students interested in obtaining an internship at NETV would be to speak with any Drucker alums that work at Nielsen. Become part of the Drucker Mentor Program and take advantage of all the resources at The Drucker School. Do some research on which group is really of interest to the student, make the connections and start networking!
