Bill Ruh brings more than 30 years of industry experience and an expertise in the software and service businesses to GE. He is the Vice President and Corporate Officer responsible for software.
Prior to joining GE, he was the Vice President at Cisco responsible for development of vertical solutions such as Sports and Entertainment (StadiumVision), Health Care (HealthPresence), Service Exchange (Virtual Service Exchange), Energy (SmartGrid), Education and IA (Intelligent Automation).
He has served in executive capacities at Software AG as the Senior Vice President with responsibility for services and solutions as well as at entrepreneurial companies such as The Advisory Board and Concept Five Technologies. Early in his career, he worked at the MITRE Corporation as well as IBM in a variety of technical roles.
An expert on enterprise applications and integration, he has authored four books on the topic, Enterprise Integration: The Essential Guide to Integration Solutions from Addison Wesley, July 2004, Enterprise Application Integration, released in 2000 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc., IIOP Complete: Middleware Interoperability and Standards, released in September 1999 by Addison-Wesley and Inside CORBA: Distributed Object Standards and Applications, released in 1997.
He currently sits on the Advisory Boards for the University of Virginia Systems Engineering Department and the Claremont Graduate University, School of Community and Global Health.
