Tomeka Fisher has been selected as a 2011 Technology Rising Star by Career Communication Group's Women of Color magazine. Tomeka was honored at the Technology Recognition Luncheon during the 16th Annual Women of Color STEM Conference in Dallas, Texas in November 2011.  Each year, Women of Color magazine recognizes women who have excelled in technology and demonstrated achievement in their workplace and communities.

Tomeka is employed by the Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems’ (NGAS) Systems Engineering, Integration & Test group in Redondo Beach, CA., where she is the Lead Attitude Control Subsystem (ACS) Test Engineer on the largest Aerospace program at NGAS. Prior to moving into this role, Tomeka learned multiple subsystems as an Electrical Test Engineer, writing procedures and performing tests for Power and Thermal, and began focusing on Attitude Determination and Control Subsystem(ACS). Previously, Tomeka excelled through the NG Technical Rotation program and was the lead liaison between adjunct payloads and Integration and Test (I&T) for the AMP program.

Tomeka volunteers at local middle and high schools teaching students about the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). She also volunteers her time as a tutor for the Reach Me Foundation. Tomeka has served on the Connect1NG executive board for over five years organizing events that build relationships between managers and the Northrop Grumman (NG) new employees. NG strives for top performance, and on the Connect1NG executive board, Tomeka gives presentations to leaders as high up as the Vice President related to employee engagement. She is a member of the African American Task Group (AATG) and demonstrates her leadership skills through professional organizations, IEEE, NSBE and SWE.

Northrop Grumman recently awarded Tomeka the Master of Science Technical Fellowship, one of NG's most prestigious fellowships. Tomeka became one of the first individuals to receive the award outside of the Engineering directorate. Tomeka earned an MS degree in Systems Architecture and Engineering from the University of Southern California. She also holds two Bachelors of Science degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Florida A&M University and has recently received a Professional Development Certificate from Morgan State University.
